Stardew Valley Mines Just Got Even Bigger

There’s nothing vanilla about this!

Stardew Valley just got a sizable free download that’s anything but vanilla.

When it comes to a game that has been supported by the ever-vibrant modding community, perhaps not many have been supported better than the beloved indie darling, Stardew Valley.

Originally released in 2016, before being ported to just about every platform imaginable, Stardew Valley represents the term “indie darling” perfectly. It’s a game that was developed by a single creator, Eric Barone, officially known as ConcernedApe.

“You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home?” reads the synopsis of the game.

Stardew Valley has garnered critical acclaim across the board from critics and fans alike. It’s evolved tons over the years courtesy of official content updates provided by Eric Barone, even when he’s hard at work on its spiritual successor, Haunted Chocolatier.

Speaking of the Haunted Chocolatier, it was announced in October 2021, and it still doesn't have a release date. However, given the fact that it only has a small team working on it, it gets the benefit of the doubt from us.

That being said, if Stardew Valley is anything to go by, Haunted Chocolatier should be well worth the wait. As they say, “patience is a virtue”. When the release date for the upcoming game eventually drops, we’ll be sure to update you right away.

As for the talented and very devoted modding community, who continually breathe new life into Stardew Valley, whether it’s new content, visual improvements or even bug fixes. Modders have us covered.

One such mod is created by Vanillin called ‘Vanillin Deep Mines’, and best of all, it’s free to download now via Nexusmods. “New huge mines with complex structures and mini-bosses,” reads its description.

More specifically, ‘Vanillin Deep Mines’ adds 10 mine levels, resources to hoard that refresh after a 28-day cycle, mini-bosses (which also refresh after 28 days), tool upgrades and more.

The Stardew Valley mod certainly looks to add a lot more content to what is already a very fulfilling game. Sadly, however, as is the case with most mods, ‘Vanillin Deep Mines’ is a PC exclusive.

For the rest of us, we can still enjoy Stardew Valley as intended, with all of its glorious updates on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
