Stardew Valley free expansion is one for the romance lovers

Stardew Valley fans will know romance is a big part of the game; in fact, you could argue it’s the endgame as almost everyone I know loads up a new farm and immediately decides who they’re going to rizz up first.

There are plenty of options to choose from too, with certain characters responding better to certain actions, great for replayability.

This new mod for Stardew Valley gives the romances a bit of an overhaul though, adding rival marriages to the mix.

Usually, it’s just your character and whoever has taken your fancy that gets married, but it sounds like this mod allows NPCs to marry each other too.

The mod is called 'Star Crossed- A Rival Hearts and Marriage Mod' and is described as follows: “The new farmer isn't the only one looking for love in Stardew Valley. Star Crossed introduces rival marriages for six couples. Each pair has their own unique events, dialogue, engagement, and custom wedding. After marriage, couples will move in and continue to interact together during their regular schedules, as well as during festivals.”

Sounds like it’s pretty comprehensive, and while it doesn’t change much from a gameplay point of view, it sounds like a great option for those who want to spice up the village life.

Combine it with a few other mods that do change up the gameplay and you’d have an entirely different game to play, perfect for those who’ve done a good few playthroughs by this point and want to try something new.

I’d recommend giving 'Star Crossed- A Rival Hearts and Marriage Mod' a go. After all, it’s free on NexusMods and actual updates for Stardew Valley have slowed down quite a bit.

The game’s creator is now pretty occupied with finishing up Haunted Chocolatier, but it’s mods like this that keep the Stardew Valley alive in the meantime.
