Skyrim just got a lot harder thanks to several deadly new traps

Skyrim just got a lot harder thanks to several deadly new traps created by one talented modder.

We all experienced dying to a random trap in one of Skyrim’s many dungeons but thanks to one mod, they are about to get even harder to dodge.

Released well over 10 years ago, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is up there with some of the greatest games of all time. The action RPG by Bethesda has been the cause behind multiple memes, memorable one-liners and who can forget the iconic opening scene?

Check out some epic wins and fails from Skyrim below!

Despite entering its second decade, Skyrim fans are still a dedicated bunch and its modders are even more dedicated to adding new and sometimes quite wild content to the game. One modder in particular over on Nexus Mods has created the ‘O Skyrim Has Insane Traps’ mod which aims to “give you a more challenging adventure and a new experience while you explore Skyrim’s dungeons”.

By adding new traps to the game, you will find yourself dodging for your life as you explore various Draugr-infested dungeons. No longer will you just be taken out by a stray spike-clad door but you will also find yourself coming across deadly caveworms, mimic chests, rolling stones (not the band) and even whips.

With the caveworms mostly found underwater, mimic chests hidden within mage’s houses and old ruins, boulders rushing towards you Indiana Jones style and whips that can hold you in place, any misstep may result in your death which we all know will increase quick saves dramatically.

The mod is free to download on Nexus Mods and the creator also provides tips on how to add it to your Skyrim save. If you are on the market for even more Skyrim mods, one modder has created a free expansion that adds 132 new monsters and 35 areas to explore. It is doubtful we will ever run out of content for this Bethesda classic thanks to the amazing modding community.
