Skyrim: Dark Hierophant Magic adds a ton of new spells for you to check out right now

The Skyrim Dark Hierophant Magic mod is the perfect way for returning players to switch up the game's combat.

Unfortunately, The Elder Scrolls VI continues to remain a complete and utter mystery. We know that it’s happening, of course, but as for what it’ll be about or when it’s targeted to launch, Bethesda is keeping a tight lid on things.

Starfield has now finally launched, several months ago in fact, but that doesn’t mean that the work ends there. Devs will be busy providing post-launch support, including the addition of player-requested features like city maps which we know are landing this year, as is the Shattered Space expansion. The studio is also working on Fallout 4’s new-gen patch but it’s all very much quiet on The Elder Scrolls front. Thankfully, Skyrim’s fan community is just as buzzing today as it was 13 years ago, and the new Dark Hierophant Magic mod has left fans, dare I say, spellbound.

Take a look at The Elder Scrolls VI’s announcement trailer below.

As reported by WCCFtech, this latest mod comes from creator Kittytail and has reportedly already been downloaded over 14,000 times after launching just last week. If you want to spice up your Skyrim playthrough, the mod adds 10 new unique spells to the game which can handily bypass magic absorption. Many who have sampled the mod have praised its overall quality.

Kittytail confirmed that scrolls and spell tomes can be crafted at the Ghostlight Altar in the Forgotten Vale. Let’s dive into those spells: Penance fires a blade of light that deals 60 points of health, stamina, and magicka damage, while Penance Aura - Fanning will stagger opponents for 12 seconds, dealing 40 damage. Retribution triggers a barrier of light, staggering enemies and causing 40 damage, while Penance Aura - Shielding causes 40 damage to opponents in melee range for 12 seconds.

Absolution releases a beam of volatile light dealing 120 points of damage per second for three seconds. Next up, Inhibition restrains opponents behind the caster, taking 20 points of damage per second for 12 seconds. Ordinance of Light releases a, you guessed it, massive plume of light that kills all within it and deals damage to those around it, plus there’s Mass Inhibition which restrains nearby opponents and also takes 20 points of damage per second for 12 seconds.

Phew, we made it to the end. The mod is available to download now on NexusMods, so go and give it a whirl.
