An upcoming World War II shooter that combines themes and elements of Battlefield with Wolfenstein is coming out this year, and we can’t wait.

Described as “alternate reality World War II”, Noblemen: 1941 combines the epic sprawling warfronts of the Battlefield games with the historic fantasy of the Wolfenstein series.

Developed by Foursaken Media, Noblemen: 1941 is a gritty third-person shooter with mechs, set in a world that has been ravaged by plague and where resources have become scarce.

It’s also a sequel to Noblemen: 1896, which was a similar idea as this one but built for mobile devices. 1941, on the other hand, is a PC expansion of that game set in a new era.

Noblemen: 1941 Introduces Us To A Very Different Second World War

While Noblemen: 1941 takes place in an alternate history, Foursaken Media has stated that many elements of the game are “based on familiar real world events, locations, and scenarios from WWII.”

This means real battles and events from World War II should still make an appearance in the game, but with alternative outcomes and situations as a result of the mechs and other technology appearing in-game.

The core of the gameplay features realistic mechanics, like armour penetration, bullet drop, suppression, and even morale, adding an extra depth of tactics to its gameplay.

But in addition to being a shooter, it’s also a strategy game where you can take command of your unit and give them orders while in active combat.

Foursaken Media claims that your fellow soldiers use advanced AI models that are based on “real world combat doctrines and tactics from the time period.”

Noblemen: 1941 also has RPG elements too, allowing you to gain experience and level up your foot soldier. They’ll get skill points, allowing them to progress through skill trees and unlock new abilities to use on the battlefield.

Using this, you’ll be able to customise your loadout with a variety of different weapons, which is generally a mix of real historic firearms and fictional ones.

This comes into play with three distinct factions that you can play as, with each one apparently having a “unique play style, Noblemen, units, equipment, abilities and campaign”.

Noblemen: 1941 doesn’t have a set release date yet, but Foursaken Media has given it a rough 2026 release window.

We'll probably learn more about when it releases as the year goes on, assuming it doesn't meet any delays.
