Skyrim: Blood and Snow is a DLC-sized expansion that’s out now, and fans are hailing it as a wonderful surprise.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has received a few DLCs and expansions over the years. There were the officially-released Dawnguard and Dragonborn expansions by Bethesda back in 2012, plus the extra content that came with the Anniversary Edition in 2021.

When you factor in modding and Creation Club content, it really does feel like Skyrim is the “forever game” you always dreamed of.

Now, Skyrim fans are loving the fan-made expansion Blood and Snow, which came to PC and Xbox last year and is still getting updates.

Blood and Snow is new a lore-friendly questline Creation where you lead either the Quarra or Cronvangr clans to victory over their rivals, and decide the fate of vampires in Skyrim. Alternatively, you can stay a mortal and help the Vigilants of Stendarr to get rid of both factions.

The mod features a fully-voiced storyline from professional voice actors—totalling 3,000 lines of dialogue overall.

There are also 10 new dungeons and a lot of new quests, as well as new apparel, weapons, and spells to conjure.

Fans of the Creation are loving it, with one fan writing: “This is so cool! I love the return of the vampire nightmares - they're such a unique and underappreciated aspect of the whole thing!”

“I wish there was more vampire questline mods like this,” added another.

“This is what the Anniversary Edition should have come with,” wrote another fan.

As of writing this, the mod has over two million plays on both PC and Xbox, and is up to version 2.20.

Skyrim: Blood and Snow is available to download now from Bethesda Creation Club. It’s only available on PC and Xbox, so players on PlayStation or Switch will miss out unfortunately.
