Red Dead Redemption 2 gets surprise Manhunt fan expansion

The fans have been busy again

Some outlaws crave danger.

Playing as Red Dead Redemption 2’s Arthur Morgan isn’t exactly free of trials and tribulations, however, some may feel like it’s too easy going.

For those of you who feel this way, this expansion is certain to give you that extra sense of challenge you seek.

‘Ambient Gang – Manhunt' isn’t a catchy name.

Nonetheless, while it won’t wow players with its title, it’ll soon test their skills when faced with new patrolling enemies.

Return to where it all began in Red Dead Redemption

It’s a mod from Blackjack Colver Voltaire, born from a desire to intensify the danger the lore of the game teases.

“I always felt the Tall Trees and Roanoke Ridge doesn't feel as dangerous as the story and lore suggest,” they explained.

“Aside from the random events that only happen once, you'd never get attacked at all. This mod changes that by adding Murfree Brood and Skinner Brothers patrolling around their respective region hunting for unsuspecting targets.”

Coming and going as you please just got harder in this Rockstar experience. A lot harder.

Don’t panic though, even if you have the mod installed, when you’re playing a mission or at camp this expansion won’t trigger.

It might sound odd to say given the subject matter of this mod, but there’s plenty of satisfied customers lining up to praise it.

“Loaded into the game and immediately got beaten up by pig monster, 10/10 would recommend,” commented cryyys.

“Very cool. This is the sort of thing story mode desperately needed,” posted another player.

This “great idea” of a mod has such a simple premise, yet it’s led to many happy gamers. Sure, they’re now beaten and bruised, but it’s what they wanted.

You can choose to leave the extra violence alone for now and instead go hunting for a hidden secret found in the starting area of the game.

We won’t say it’s without its challenges, but it’s not nearly as dangerous as getting ambushed by several gangs.
