Red Dead Redemption 2 free download available to claim for 48 hours

It's that time again

Red Dead Redemption 2 players have secured themselves another freebie, but you’ll have to speed up as you don’t have long to claim it.

Don’t get too excited though, I think most Red Dead Redemption players know the deal by now as Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game its developer was happy to let die, whilst throwing its fans a few scraps every now and then.

Check out Red Dead Redemption 2’s funniest fails below.

GTA VI is probably all Rockstar Games can think of at the moment, especially its inevitable online mode which will be an absolute cash-cow for the studio for the foreseeable future.

For now though, anyone on Red Dead Online, RDR2's multiplayer component, should look out for the Lake Isabella Treasure Map, a freebie you can claim by finding and handing in three distinct collectable items.

The treasure map will lead you to some goodies so if you play regularly, this should help you along nicely, as will the in-game businesses that regularly see discounts these days.

All of this is Rockstar Games’ way of ringing in the New Year, a big one for the company for the aforementioned release of GTA VI which is expected by fall, provided there are no delays.

As for the treasure map freebie, Red Dead Online players don’t have long to claim it, as you’ve only got until 20 January.

That only gives you less than 48 hours at the time of writing so if you want it, get to it, as it’ll go by in a flash if you’re not careful.

It’s a shame Red Dead Redemption 2 and its online multiplayer didn’t receive the same kind of support GTA V did, as the game had a lot of potential for post-launch content.

Unfortunately it’s far too late to do anything about it now, so let’s hope GTA VI has a bit more longevity to it.
