One Red Dead Redemption 2 player pushed their PC to its breaking point online, to the point it took 12 hours for them to finish the game’s first mission.

Players have pushed Rockstar's open-world world Western to its limits before but never quite like this…

Most of the time, it’s a visual overhaul mod that makes the game look drop-dead gorgeous but at the cost of its framerate.

This Danish player though has their game running at a crisp 4fps, without all of the visual enhancements other players tend to have running in the background.

At This Rate, They’ll Finish The Game By Red Dead Redemption 3’s Release Date

The gamer’s playthrough went viral online and was shared to X by eXtas1stv. According to the post, “The first missions in the snowy mountains took him more than 12 hours to complete. The guy's PC is a laptop with an i5-8300H and a 1050ti with 4 GB.”

In terms of specs, we’ve definitely seen worse but it’s a far cry from what’s needed to effectively run the game.

A video accompanied the post showing the player’s gameplay and it looks as bad as it sounds.

At this rate, they won’t roll credits by the time Grand Theft Auto VI comes out, they’ll likely wrap up their playthrough by the next Rockstar launch.

It actually defies belief that this playthrough could be completed at all as surely shootouts are impossible to finish when you can hardly see what you’re aiming at…

As you’d expect, the comments had a lot to say about the atrocity, with one claiming, “I played and finished Red Dead 2 on a 750TI with 2GB and it ran way smoother than this.”

“It can't be running that badly with those specs. Something is going wrong,” began another. “It's selecting Intel's integrated graphics by default instead of NVIDIA's, or your laptop needs a good internal cleaning, or both.”

One more said: “Reminds me of the time I played through GTA IV on a Lenovo laptop with 4GB RAM and a paltry AMD A4 CPU. Had to play in 640x480 and with quality settings all set to minimum or switched off.”

The game’s performance is so bad that many are theorising the whole thing is made up for attention, which could very well be the case.

In any case, seeing Red Dead Redemption 2 has ruined our day and we’re praying that the player's performance improves.
