PC gamers can claim $40 (£32) worth of free games from an acclaimed AA series that is yours to keep forever.
In my opinion, some of the best ways to save money when it comes to our beloved hobby of playing video games are with subscription services such as PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass.
Typically, even for the highest tiers, a monthly subscription fee will be much less than most major AAA releases (even with the price hikes) and on top of that, you might get additional freebies such as DLC, movies, discounts and more.
Major free-to-play games such as Fortnite, Rocket League, Fall Guys and Call of Duty: Warzone can all be enjoyed without spending a penny. Speaking of Fortnite and Xbox Game Pass, a select tier of the Microsoft subscription service offers free 1000 V-Bucks and other additional bonuses.

However, nothing quite beats claiming free games that might otherwise cost us money to pick up, such as the two games that are the topic of today’s discussion.
Here’s How to Claim Two Free PC Games!
The two free games in question are: Styx: Master of Shadows, released in 2014, and its 2017 sequel, Styx: Shards of Darkness. In fact, the sequel is the ‘Deluxe Edition’, which comes with bonus DLC.

The current RRP of Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness - Deluxe Edition is £15.99/$19.99, so it’s a tidy freebie, it has to be said.
Developed by Cyanide and published by Focus Entertainment, both Styx games are stealth action-adventure titles with RPG elements. In them, you play as the sneaky and grumpy goblin, Styx. In some ways, they kind of remind me of a cross between the legendary stealth series, Thief and The Lord of the Rings.
Being dubbed AA games, they occupy a space somewhere between indie and AAA. They both look excellent, considering one is over a decade old, and the other is not far off. They also have loads of humour, so expect a few laughs along the way.
To claim both of these games for free, all you need is an Epic Games account and download the Epic Games Store launcher on PC, and then you’re pretty much good to go.

If you’ve not got a gaming PC but fancy the look of the Styx titles, then never fear. They’re both available on PlayStation and Xbox. They’re both discounted regularly, too, so it might be worth shopping about. Oh, and they often appear in PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass.
It’s worth keeping in mind that Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness - Deluxe Edition are only free until 22 January 2026, so act now, before you forget and miss out.
