This upcoming new horror game has vibes of The Last of Us and the Netflix series Stranger Things.

In my opinion, The Last of Us from Naughty Dog is not only one of the best horror franchises of all time, but it’s quite simply one of the best game series ever.

The Last of Us not only brings the horrors of a post-apocalypse to the forefront on a grounded level, but it features plenty of tense moments and some truly horrific mutant creatures.

Then we have Stranger Things, the smash-hit Netflix series set in the 1980s, bringing all the nostalgia with the added horrors of creatures from a parallel dimension, with the fate of our planet in the hands of a band of misfit but charming youngsters.

Speaking of Stranger Things, we're just a few months away from its epic conclusion with its fifth and final season. I have no doubts that plenty of tears will be shed.

If The Last of Us, Stranger Things, and, I must add, Silent Hill are your kinda thing, then the upcoming new horror I Hate This Place should be firmly on your ‘games to watch’ list.

“I Hate This Place is an isometric survival horror set in an eerie, unpredictable world that's twisted beyond comprehension,” reads the description of the game developed by Rock Square Thunder. “Playing as Elena, you awaken forces that threaten to shatter everything you knew about reality.”

I Hate This Place is inspired by Skybound’s comic of the same name, written by Kyle Starks and the artwork from Artyom Topilin.

The game does not have a release date, but it is scheduled to launch at some point this year on the Steam and Epic Games stores. I’m hoping it will arrive on consoles one day, too.

Finally, be sure to add I Hate This Place to your wishlist to be notified of any updates.
