With so many choices when it comes to embarking on epic adventures two titles that come to mind are Horizon Zero Dawn and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Whichever game you choose, between Horizon Zero Dawn (or Horizon Forbidden West) from Guerilla Games, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim from Bethesda, there is plenty of joy to be had exploring the open worlds. Each series does have its differences of course, as in the Horizon series you’ll be fighting robot dinosaurs (so to speak) and in Skyrim, you’ll be fighting mythical beasts such as dragons.

So, if we could blend the worlds of the Horizon series and Skyrim, that should make for one heck of an epic adventure, right? If that sounds like your cup of tea, then you might want to check out The Night Wanderer, developed and published by indie developer Mighty Koi. The Night Wanderer can be described as a Soulslike action RPG.

“Embrace the power of ‘The Night Wanderer’, a groundbreaking RPG and soulslike fusion! Dive into Metroidvania-inspired level design and master the tactical, yet lightning-paced combat system,” reads the description on the Steam store. “Experience the classic RPG-style quest design, all while navigating the omnipresent Cyphral and the intertwined Corruption. Brace yourself for a gaming spectacle that defies convention and delivers unparalleled excitement!”

At the time of writing, The Night Wanderer does not have a release date, however, in its announcement trailer, it says “when it’s ready” which is the best policy if you ask me, rather than rushing out an unfinished game. If only other developers would share that same sentiment. We only have a cinematic trailer so far to judge the game but its concept at least seems interesting. Hopefully, we’ll get to see some gameplay in the coming months.

The Night Wanderer will be released on PC via Steam at some point. You can add The Night Wanderer to your Steam wishlist so that you can be notified of when it’s launched.
