PC gamers can claim a free title today that will save $15, but you need to act fast before missing out.
Claiming a free video game is probably more important today than it ever was, with the cost-of-living crisis seemingly not ending anytime soon. Plus, video games can offer an escape from our worldly woes better than most other forms of entertainment.
The free PC game in question is called Blood and Zombies, developed by the indie studio Wild Monkey. As the name of the game quite clearly suggests, it’s a game about killing zombies. Shocking, I know.
“Blood, guts, meat. Humanity is waging total war against a horrific zombie apocalypse,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Lead one of four of humanity's deadliest survivors against the horde in this first-person, wave defence shooter. Load up your guns, set up turrets, sharpen your skills, and maybe you'll make it through the night.”
You can download Blood and Zombies right now via the PC digital platform, IndieGala. There’s no telling how long this game might be free for, but considering that it’s been sold on other digital platforms, it's safe to assume it won’t be free forever.

Strangely, despite originally releasing in March 2022, Blood and Zombies has no reviews or scores on Metacritic, from both critics and users. However, it does have user reviews on Steam.
While Blood and Zombies has quite an unfavourable “Mixed” rating on Steam, many users criticised its uninspired gameplay and visuals, but there were at least some gamers who had nice things to say about the shooter.
“As of now, this game is simple survival waves with a defence building mechanic (walls, traps and turrets). It's well-done, and has a nice arcade feel that's great for short bursts,” wrote Charmer.
“This game is okay, nothing too special. It’s a little janky, but it’s okay if it's part of a bundle or on sale. It’s a solid three hours of playtime to get the achievements if you have friends to play with,” explained TheFacelessStrategist.
Blood and Zombies is a PC exclusive and is available on consoles.
