Fallout: New Vegas meets Cyberpunk 2077 in new free download

One fan has overhauled Fallout: New Vegas' Mojave after being inspired by Cyberpunk 2077's Night City.

Inspired by the “filthy and seedy” design of Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City, one talented Fallout: New Vegas fan has launched the Desert Landscapes mod, completely overhauling the game’s iteration of the Mojave desert with impressive results.

It’s going to be a while until we get our hands on a new Fallout game. Bethesda developers are hard at work providing post-launch support for Starfield. When the focus is eventually altered, The Elder Scrolls VI’s development will get underway leaving Fallout fans craving the release of Fallout 5. As a consolation, we do have Amazon’s TV adaptation landing in April, plus Fallout 4 is due to get an official new-gen update this year. You can always rely on the fan community though too to keep us entertained. Today, I’d like to shed light on an excellent Fallout: New Vegas mod.

Take a look at Amazon’s upcoming Fallout TV series below.

As reported by PCGamesN, this mod comes from creator friendlynonmurderingsort and breathes a new lease of life into New Vegas’ Mojave. The creator teamed up with collaborator ‘the lucky thirty kate’ who photographed the real world Mojave in order to help friendlynonmurderingsort accurately place flora and fauna within the overhauled version of the desert.

The creator conveyed that they hoped to give the map recognisable landmarks, allowing players to navigate more easily. “The spirit of this mod was inspired by my experience with other apocalyptic titles like S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Metro: Exodus and the journeys I had through the Zone in particular,” they said. “The lack of fast travel forces the player to acquire map familiarity, recognise landmarks, and notice a lot more detail in the game world overall.”

Friendlynonmurderingsort also touched on wanting to echo some of the “filthy and seedy” feeling captured in Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City. The mod is available to download for free now on NexusMods, and could add an exciting new level of detail and immersion to this modern Bethesda classic.
