The Elder Scrolls fans have a third remake to look forward to now, because the devs behind the Morrowind remake, Skywind, just showed off some in depth gameplay from the upcoming project.
Clearly something is in the water regarding The Elder Scrolls remakes at the moment, because The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Skyblivion aren’t the only TES-related projects we’re gonna be able to sink our teeth into.
That’s because the folks at TES Renewal Project just released a look at a slice of gameplay from Skywind, a remake of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind inside of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The devs behind the project have been working on it since 2012, and their updates on the project have been steadily increasing over the last year.
So, how close to completion is it, exactly? It’s hard to say for sure, but the latest dev update stated that “all 2D art and writing for the base game has now been completed” and almost "all 3,000 NPCs" have been voiced.
They also stated that significant progress has been made in completing the new weather and lighting systems they’ve added to the project.
But how do the folks over on the r/skywind subreddit feel about the progress? Pretty chuffed, by the sounds of things.

“This looks so good, each little drops of progress warms my heart,” commented user SomeoneNotFamous.
“This looks incredible!! As excited as I am for Skyblivion, THIS is the remake I'm truly hyped about! This is gonna feel like coming home when I finally get to play,” replied user Rhonu.
“I've been following this project since 2012, back when there was still a very early alpha version available for download… Seeing how far this project has come since those days is truly mindboggling. My gasts are flabbered!”
Here’s hoping the next dev update gives us a rough release date to look forward to, not that there’s any reason for the team behind it to rush things.

I think we’ll all gladly wait as long as they need to deliver this mammoth undertaking of a project.
