Elden Ring players can now enjoy a brand new gameplay twist to the standard formula with this free download available on PC.
Elden Ring is one of the toughest games of the last few years, and fans who have rinsed through the game several times often look for new ways to challenge themselves.
Either through self-imposed restrictions or modded saves which amp up the difficulty, many veterans of the Lands Between have come back with determination to beat the odds and finish the game under new conditions.
One particular challenge which has been making the rounds on Nexus Mods right now is Weapon Randomizer, a new mod by creator B1adeOfMelina which does exactly as you’d expect.

Weapon Randomizer presents you with a new challenge: your weapon is no longer consistent for your build.
What’s actually happening here is that your equipped weapon changes every few seconds, meaning that you don’t have time to get comfortable using one weapon, when another is going to be in your hands in a moment’s notice.

It’ll provide a hefty challenge for you if you want to up the ante of your current playthrough. For example, you’re fighting a boss using a katana that has the bleed effect, which is a weapon conducive to your build.
However, suddenly the weapon is swapped out and replaced with a greataxe, which requires two hands to wield properly and may require a completely different build to use.
You see what I’m getting at. The mod ensures that you don’t get comfortable wielding one weapon type, and instead ensures that you play in a way that leaves you able to adapt to any weapon that is thrust into your grip.
The list of weapon types featured in the mod range from the likes of small daggers and axes, to staffs and crossbows. A complete list is featured on the mod page, which is found on Nexus Mods.
Other Elden Ring challenge mods we’ve covered recently include Action Based Runes, which adds or takes away runes depending on your various actions completed during gameplay.
There’s also Rune Health, which adjusts your health value depending on the runes held in your inventory. Gain more runes from defeating enemies, and you’ll earn more health. Lose runes from dying or by spending them, and you’ll lose health. It’s a fun trade-off.
If you’d like to hear about more of the best Elden Ring mods, we also covered more here which offer you a great new challenge.
