Elden Ring just got a major free graphics boost

Elden Ring is a gorgeous game, but there are ways to improve on those good looks

After the mixed bag that is learning a new Elden Ring game is on the way that isn’t what any of us asked for, it’s fair to say the fandom needs a morale boost. This major freebie is that boost.

The prospect of playing Elden Ring on a mobile has seriously filled us with dread. However, we’re not ones to let such dire news keep us down for long, and thanks to the hard work of the fandom, it’s easy to dust ourselves off.

Who do you think would be the victor in an Elden Ring boss battle royale?

What is more, it’s a simple download but one that dramatically changes the visuals of the game. Despite having been released in 2022, Elden Ring is already starting to look a little tired around the edges. Don’t misunderstand, the fantasy epic still looks amazing, but when those graphics can be improved even further, who is going to turn that down?

Definition in buildings will become clear, weather atmospherics like fog will look more natural, and the overall feel of FromSoftware’s title is richer, more immersive.

“Working excellently on my PC [...] awesome work,” commented a gamer already savouring the visual beauty of this graphics tweak. Another also responded, “Wow, this actually works flawlessly on my end (RTX 2070). Can finally max out grass draw distance without some parts of the map dropping into stuttery mess territory.”

Still, while feedback has been positive, this is a mod still in its infancy and thus issues are expected; already, some PC players have faced crashing the moment they attempt to load the game. However, the modder is working to address such problems, which bodes will for the future of this mod.

This is another NexusMods offering, which, as far as we’re aware, will work alongside some of the more acclaimed expansions, like Elden Ring: The Convergence. Having teased new locations to explore, we’d love to see those area visuals enhanced.

You can download Elden Ring ‘DLSS Super Resolution’ for free right now – don’t miss out.
