Bloodborne has a brutal extra mode you can download now

A brutal challenge awaits...

Bloodborne fans have a new challenge to undertake, one that will test even the most skilled hunters. Be ready.

While my favourite FromSoftware game has to be Dark Souls, I can’t say there isn’t a case to be made for Bloodborne also being in contention.

I do think some of the bosses are amongst the weakest in the soulsborne series; aesthetically, they’re all ace but gameplay-wise, many are quite forgettable, at least for me anyway.

Maybe that’s because I haven’t fought them enough though. After all, once you’ve beaten a boss, you can’t fight it again until you start a new playthrough, or can you?

Let me introduce 'Boss Rush Mode', a mod for Bloodborne that does exactly what it says on the tin, and it’s free to download from NexusMods right now.

The mod will add some new gravestones to interact with in the Hunter’s Dream, which is the game’s hub area for those who haven’t played it.

These will let you replay the boss fights you’ve done so far and reward you for beating them again, with the ultimate challenge being to slay all 22 bosses in a row, Gehrman would be proud.

It’s a feature you’d think FromSoftware would add at some point to its games, but perhaps that ruins the overall experience of starting over with a new build.

Elden Ring: Nightreign is the closest thing to an official FromSoftware boss rush mode, as the multiplayer game has players racing across a smaller map with the sole objective of killing anything and everything they can in order to gain levels.

It works well and it’s a lot of fun, so I wouldn’t be offended if they made a similar type of game for some of the other IPs.

For now though, Bloodborne fans can enjoy this free mode for their game, and put their hunters through their paces.
