Bloodborne 60fps Is A Glorious Reality At Long Last

I've dreamt of this day

Copium is in high demand these days, but I’m not sure there’s anyone consuming quite as much as Bloodborne fans.

Listen, I get it.

Bloodborne is easily up there as one of the best titles FromSoft has released and yet it’s also one of the studio’s only projects without any kind of follow-up outside of its DLC expansions.

Elden Ring, for example, has received a multiplayer spin-off in the form of Elden Ring: Nightreign, and we’re all familiar with the fact that there’s an entire Dark Souls trilogy.

And yet, there’s no sign that a Bloodborne sequel or spin-off might be in the works; heck, it doesn’t even feel as if Bloodborne will receive a simple 60fps new-gen update.

It is, actually, possible to experience Bloodborne running at 60fps though, albeit with a few caveats.

The first is that you won’t be able to achieve this on console, leading me onto the second caveat which is that you’ll have to use a specific emulator and a pricey bit of hardware on PC.

For a while now, it’s been possible to play Bloodborne on PC via the shadPS4 emulator although the game has remained a work-in-progress with modders beavering away to improve its stability.

As reported by DSOGaming, the emulated version of the game did have a tendency to crash due to VRAM leak issues, but a new version has just launched rectifying this.

Take this newer version and run it on an AMD Radeon RX 580 and you can actually now experience the game running at 60fps.

This has been proven by YouTube content creator ProteinGaming who also implemented the ‘FPS Boost Mod’, ‘Downscale Textures’ mod, and ‘No Cloth Physics Mod’ to aid his endeavour.

As you can imagine, the end result is pretty darn impressive; you can take a look below.

Understandability, the frame rate drops from time to time as this is an experimental way to run the game but it’s thrilling to see what Bloodborne is capable of … if only FromSoft would tap into that potential.

Of course, this has only made Bloodborne fans hungrier for an official 60fps patch on console.

“You have no idea how happy I just got,” wrote one YouTube viewer, while another added, “Excellent news.”

Sony, FromSoft … please lock in. You know what to do.
