Metal Gear Solid fans have been eating well recently, with the release of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1, as well as the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake.

The upcoming remake of the third game in the series will be made with Unreal Engine 5, prompting theories that Konami plans to remake all of the games in chronological order.

If that’s the case, the next game to be remade would have to be the first Metal Gear Solid game, which takes place after the events of the third.

For those wondering what that could look like, wonder no further as one fan,

JacktheLightning, has recreated the infamous Gray Fox hallway scene using Unreal Engine 5 and uploaded it to YouTube.

The scene follows Solid Snake creeping through one of the many cold hallways of Shadow Moses island, before stumbling upon the cyborg ninja Gray Fox who’s slicing through a team of soldiers like a hot knife through butter.

After a brief interaction and some classic Metal Gear exposition the ninja flees the scene with Snake in pursuit.

While the Unreal Engine 5 remake of the cutscene is a little rough around the edges it's a fantastic example of what it could look like with modern graphics.

It’s also a solid reason as to why Konami should commit to more remakes in the future, as a retelling of the first game with modernised graphics and gameplay would be fantastic, and a great alternative to those not wanting to play the original release.

The Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake is expected to launch sometime this year for Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms.
