Konami has confirmed potential plans to remake new Metal Gear Solid games, and it’s got fans hyped for what could be next.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater released earlier this summer, and it’s had pretty rave reviews. Die-hard fans of the original as well as newcomers to the franchise all seem to be enjoying this new update of a beloved classic.
Following the success of that, along with last year’s Silent Hill 2, it’s pretty clear that Konami is keen to remake more of its older library of titles. The original Silent Hill is confirmed to be next, but it seems like other Metal Gear Solid games will receive the Delta treatment, too.
As spotted by a post by X (formerly Twitter) account Metal Gear Network, Konami’s upcoming survey for Tokyo Game Show 2025 alludes to new Metal Gear releases, including remakes of the rest of the series.

The survey features a question which asks: “What information would you like to see in future broadcasts?”, with one possible answer including new information on Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
The first Master Collection included ports of the first three Metal Gear Solid games for modern platforms, as well as the two classic Metal Gear games.
It’s assumed that a second Master Collection will include Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which is currently trapped in PS3 jail (and the reason I still haven't replayed it all these years later), as well as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Ground Zeroes, and Peace Walker.
Another question also asked participants to name any Metal Gear series titles which they think should be remade, presumably in a similar fashion to Snake Eater.

If the company was planning to remake the series in its fictional chronological order, that would mean Peace Walker would be next, which is set a decade after Snake Eater. However, this survey seems to imply that it’s taking fan feedback on board when deciding which one should come next.
“I would love to see Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 remakes,” reads one comment on Reddit. “The Solid part of the series overshadows the origins so much that nobody even remembers the originals.”
“It would also be a nice introduction if they finally remade the first MGS game,” reads another comment underneath it. “That way, new players wouldn’t be confused about who the heck Frank Jaeger is or what happened to him in Zanzibar Land, like I was back in the day.”
Of course, since this is just a survey that Konami is conducting at the moment, it’s very likely that the company has not made any concrete plans for what its next Metal Gear Solid release will be.

With interest in the series renewed following the releases of the Master Collection and the Snake Eater remake though, I’d imagine it won’t be long before we hear about what’s coming next.
