Resident Evil 9 Is Way Cheaper On One Console

That's a tidy saving

It looks like the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem will be way cheaper on one particular console, which is a nice bonus for those who play on that platform.

Resident Evil Requiem is the next entry in Capcom’s legendary survival horror series that first graced us with its terrifying presence in 1996 on the original PlayStation.

Since then, Resident Evil has gone on to become one of the most popular properties in the video game industry with its next entry arriving early next year on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.

Resident Evil Requiem takes us back to Raccoon City, roughly 30 years after the US government dropped a nuke on it in an attempt to cover up the T-Virus outbreak caused by the sinister pharmaceutical company Umbrella Corps.

At the heart of its story is a young FBI agent called Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alyssa, a popular investigative journalist from the cult-classic co-op game Resident Evil Outbreak.

Recently, I got to go hands-on with Resident Evil Requiem, and I came away feeling not only impressed but somewhat tormented (in the best way).

“This demo left me terrified and wanting more. If this demo sets the tone for what’s to come in the full game, Resident Evil Requiem has the potential to be the scariest game in the series,” I said.

As brought to our attention by RE9Countdown, if you’re planning on picking up Resident Evil Requiem on the Nintendo Switch 2, you should be able to make a decent saving.

Across the EU, Resident Evil Requiem has an RRP of €79.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, whereas the Nintendo Switch 2 version is €69.99.

In the UK, Resident Evil Requiem has an RRP of £69.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and £59.99 on the Nintendo Switch 2. The PC version on Steam is yet to be priced.

With the price of everything going up nowadays, such as some major AAA games having an RRP of £79.99 for a standard edition, it’s nice to see Capcom has frozen the price on a game that is garnering so much hype.

These prices are for the standard version of the game and do not include any Deluxe or Collector’s Editions, which will, of course, be quite a bit more expensive in the likelihood of them being announced.

Resident Evil Requiem will be released on 27 February 2026.
