Nintendo has just released a new set of adorable free downloads for Pokémon Pokopia on Switch and Switch 2.

Pokémon Pokopia has become one of the most popular games on Nintendo Switch 2 since its launch last week, and there’s no reason to doubt why.

Aside from its excellent elevator pitch of “Animal Crossing meets Minecraft”, it’s become a refreshing experience for Pokémon fans who have long-awaited something fresh for the franchise.

As such, Pokémon Pokopia has now sold 2.2 million copies in the first four days since its release, Nintendo has reported.

To celebrate the success of the game, a new free wave of Pokémon Pokopia icons are now available for players to pick up on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles via Nintendo Switch Online.

NSO Icon Alerts reports that 11 new icons are now available to download, featuring the likes of Pikachu, Ditto, and Charmander. Additionally, five frames and seven backgrounds are also available to grab.

This new batch of icons for Nintendo Switch Online users follows on from the icons that were available last week. There are a few icons here which have been reused, but you can still grab some of the new ones now available with this fresh wave.

How To Claim And Use Nintendo Switch Online Icons

If you’d like to claim these icons for your own profile, load up your Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 console, then head to the Nintendo Switch Online app on the home screen.

Once you’re in, go to Missions & Rewards and then find the icons as part of the rewards available on the app. You’ll then be able to start redeem the icons using Platinum Points you’ve built up from performing different activities on Nintendo Switch Online.

Pokémon Pokopia came out last week, and has seen massive praise across the board. In GAMINGbible’s own review, Kate Harrold writes that “Pokémon Pokopia is quite simply perfection, and I can say with complete conviction that it’s a major GOTY contender.”

It'll be interesting to see if the game has the legs to continue growing, and whether it can match the records set by some of Nintendo's earlier big hitters like Animal Crossing New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Be sure to check back periodically for new icons that are available as part of your Nintendo Switch Online subscription, as Nintendo is prone to adding them quite frequently.
