Pokémon Legends Z-A trailer roasted by frustrated fans

Is it over before it's even started?

Pokémon fans are amazed we haven’t had a single update on Pokémon Legends Z-A, a year after the game’s initial announcement trailer.

After the breath of fresh air that was Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it makes sense people are excited for the next one, especially as it’ll likely be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, or at the very least released shortly after the console’s launch.

We don’t know exactly how powerful the new Nintendo Switch is based on the reveal trailer, but we’ll know soon enough when hands-on events kick off later this year.

The last few Pokémon games have been true open-world titles yet haven’t performed well on the Nintendo Switch, which is surprising considering it’s capable of running games like The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

Either way, The Pokémon Company has shared zero updates on the next game since the initial trailer, so we’re yet to see any gameplay on either the Nintendo Switch or its successor.

Fans are relentlessly mocking the company for its radio-silence. To see that in action, you need look no further than this thread on Twitter, commenting on how long it’s been since that trailer first dropped.

“This has been insane! I kind of expected very small announcements between then and when it came out but nope not this one,” said a disgruntled fan.

Some couldn’t even believe it had been that long since the initial announcement, saying things like, “WTF, it’s been a year already???”

The more level-headed fans out there are a little more relaxed about the whole thing, suggesting everyone needs to “calm down”

"We don't need to rush them. Did we forget the state in which S/V were released?" someone added.

We’ve got an official Nintendo Switch 2 Direct coming up in April, so perhaps we’ll see some gameplay then, but in all likelihood, we’ll have to wait until the next Pokémon Presents. Fortunately, they usually follow major Nintendo Directs.
