Gather around, Pokémon Legends: Z-A players. You can now claim even more themed Nintendo Switch Online icons and backgrounds.
NSO’s icon and background selection is constantly rotating so if your favourite franchise isn’t currently featured, it probably won’t be long before it is.
Right now though, you can nab a number of new Pokémon Legends: Z-A offerings and yes, these differ from those made available last week.
In the new drop, 15 designs have been added; that’s four backgrounds and 11 icons.

As always, the icons will set you back 10 Platinum Points each whilst the backgrounds usually cost five Platinum Points.
Platinum Points is, as a reminder, Nintendo’s free currency so you’re not ‘paying’ anything for these icons. You can earn Platinum Points very easily by completing campaigns via My Nintendo.

There are weekly missions you can locate on your Nintendo Switch console. Simply signing into My Nintendo every week will net 30 points, for example.
You should be able to earn around 200 repeatable points every week, plus there are hundreds more available in one-time offerings.
All of this is to say that obtaining NSO icons and backgrounds should not be an issue. You can get those Platinum Points coffers full in no time.
‘Mon and Trainers Available This Time Around
As I said, there are 11 icons in this latest batch and four backgrounds. The backgrounds are rather simple, offering largely gradient designs.
When it comes to the ‘Mon, you can grab Mega Raichu Y, Mega Raichu X, Mega Eelektross, Mega Dragonite, Mega Charizard X, and Mega Charizard Y.
As for the trainers, Nintendo users can purchase icons for Az, Canari, Tarragon, Paxton, and Harmony.
There’s no date as for when these icons will depart but the NSO icon library tends to update on a weekly basis, so I’d act sooner rather than later.
Pokémon Celebrates Its 30th Birthday This Year
Pokémon turns 30 this year, so it’s likely we’ll get a bumper edition of the annual Pokémon day showcase next month on 27 February.
Outside of Pokémon Pokopia, which is due to land in a few months time, we don’t really know what’s in store for the franchise.
Gen 10 leaks have arisen claiming that the game is called Wind and Waves, but we won’t know for certain until an official announcement is made.
Pokémon Champions has already been announced, even if we haven’t heard much since its reveal last year.
There’s also that MMO that leaked online a while back. It goes without saying that we’ll be here on Pokémon Day bringing you the biggest and best announcements.
