Gen 10 is yet to be unveiled, but Pokémon fans have already taken to roasting the game’s starters.
These supposedly surfaced via a recent 4chan leak which, of course, I have to urge you to examine with the heftiest pinch of salt possible.
The ‘leak’ was posted to Twitter/X by user HiddenPowerPod where it generated a ton of discussion amongst Pokémon fans.
Let’s dive into what the leak claimed first.

It suggested that the game’s setting will blend influences from both Greece and Indonesia, and will feature a new battle gimmick called ‘Beta Evolution’ that “targets middle stage Pokémon, either by giving them a stat boost or by changing their typing”.
Dundunsparce will reportedly get alternate evolutions, while the game will feature a 130 new ‘mon.
Some new Pokémon will originate via a new cross-breeding feature which sounds a little bit sus.
Mega Evolutions will also supposedly return.

The leaker finished by claiming the game will release on 12 November 2026 with Pokémon Day revealing the game’s starters, which are described as “a fire type sea horse, a grass buffalo, and a water nymph”.
As I said, I do think this all needs to be taken with that pinch of salt; there’s zero evidence to back up why we should believe this 4chan claim so it could be complete nonsense.
Naturally though, fans are engaging with the information given they’ve got little else to go on when it comes to Gen 10.
It’s the mention of starters that’s really got people talking, as well as cross-breeding, unsurprisingly.

“I’m not too sure about the water ‘Nymph’. Like the mythical creature nymph? Or a bug nymph?” replied user TheDenseJester.
“Fake due to one of the starters having two elements,” declared ColossalAnimati.
“Water nymph, I’m seated,” said noetanyl.
“Each month there's a new starter trio bro choose one,” remarked MindyMindy666 referencing the sheer number of Gen 10 leaks.

It’s for this reason that it’s hard to see this ‘leak’ as anything other than fake.
Certainly, there have been accurate Pokémon leaks on 4chan in the past but you do have to sift through a ton of nonsense to find them
And then it’s impossible to say whether a leak is accurate until an official announcement lands.
What I can say is that the next instalment of Pokémon Day is due to be held on 27 February 2026, so perhaps we’ll finally get a Gen 10 tease there.

In the meantime, fans have Pokémon Legends: Z-A to look forward to on 16 October.
