Nintendo fans can enjoy a long-awaited Pokémon freebie right now, great to put on while you’re working or relaxing.
For those who haven’t been using the Nintendo Music app, I won’t say you’re missing out, but if you like listening to video game soundtracks, it’s a delightful bit of software.
It keeps getting better too with more and more songs and albums being added to it.
Today, another Nintendo game was added to its repertoire, Pokémon Sword & Shield, which you can enjoy right now provided you’ve got an active subscription to Nintendo Switch Online, needed if you want to successfully log into Nintendo Music.

I’ll grant you, Pokémon Sword & Shield doesn’t have the best soundtrack in the Pokémon franchise, but some of the songs slap, like the gym battle music.
Some of the songs that play while you’re exploring Galar can also be very pleasant as well, making them good background tracks to listen to while you’re working or chilling.
The good thing about Nintendo Music is it lets you put together your own playlists, so if you want to put together one featuring your favourite Pokémon songs (that are currently available through the app), you can do so.
Pokémon fans are happy anyway, many of whom commented on the announcement with some of their favourite Pokémon Sword & Shield songs.

“That means we got this absolute banger now,” began one fan, “Oleana’s battle theme has no right to go as hard as it does, one of the best battle themes in the entire series in my opinion.”
“Hop Final Battle and Galar Mines are about to be played on loop,” said another, with one more adding, “GALAR GYM LEADER THEME LET’S GOOOO.”
The Pokémon Sword & Shield soundtrack is available now on Nintendo Music, and now we wait for the next game to be added, whichever that may be.
