Nintendo Switch users currently have a very small window of time left to redeem some Mario goodies on the console.

If you’re an active Nintendo Switch Online user, you’ll have access to additional features and freebies that can’t be grabbed without a subscription.

This can include certain games and services, such as the Nintendo Classics series of retro games, and certain DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

You can also get exclusive custom Nintendo Switch Online icons to use on your profile, using the Missions & Rewards tab.

Doing certain tasks such as playing online or using the backup cloud options will reward you with points, and you can use those points to redeem new icons.

Now, Nintendo has changed the selection of Super Mario icons for Nintendo Switch Online, which will be available for you to redeem until 2 June.

The icons included selected imagery from Super Mario Bros. Wonder, as well as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey.

There are also new borders and backgrounds to choose from. Again, these are taken from various Mario games released during the Switch’s lifetime.

Each item is available for between 5 and 10 My Nintendo Platinum Points, which isn’t a lot considering missions can give you up to 100 points for completing them.

To redeem these new Mario icons, go to the Nintendo Switch Online app on your Switch console, where you’ll see a section called Missions & Rewards.

This is where you can earn new points for your account and also see the icon rewards that are available to redeem.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 launching next week, it’s possible we could see some new icons arrive after 2 June related to Mario Kart World or Donkey Kong Bananza. Whether they’ll be available on the original Switch remains to be confirmed.
