Nintendo has had a great start to 2026, treating us to a plethora of fantastic titles that have ensured that the Switch 2 is on track to become its most successful console ever. Some of those games include Pokémon Pokopia and Donkey Kong Bananza, and the year is far from finished.
This week, Nintendo Switch 2 gamers are looking forward to Star Fox, a remake of the beloved 1997 N64 classic, Star Fox 64, also known as Lylat Wars in the United States. It’s widely considered to be the best game in the series, as reflected by its 88 Metacritic score.
To celebrate the launch of Star Fox on the Nintendo Switch 2, you can claim a batch of free profile icons to showcase your love for the recently revived franchise. In total, there will be four waves of icons.

“Star Fox does succeed in being a solid remake of Star Fox 64, on most accounts. This is the prettiest the Lylat System has ever looked, and even the oddly realistic character designs started to grow on me after a couple of missions,” said GAMINGbible’s Sam in his review, scoring it an 8/10.
“If Star Fox is intended to be a soft-reboot for an entire fleet of new games, it does the job well, and earns its place in the Nintendo Switch 2 library.”
The Star Fox remake is available now, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.
