As Nintendo continues the festivities for the 40th anniversary of Super Mario, a new free update for Mario Tennis Fever brings fresh content for all players.
The latest update for Mario Tennis Fever adds a brand new court, along with a new racket, new cosmetic options, and more gameplay features.
You can download the free update for Mario Tennis Fever now on your Nintendo Switch 2 console, allowing you to check out the new content immediately.
The update adds the Galaxy Court into the game's selection, which is inspired by Super Mario Galaxy. The court has a round edge similar to the different planets in the Galaxy games, and features other aspects of the games looming in the background.

Because of the lower gravity in the Galaxy Court, tennis balls will bounce higher here than on a regular court, so be ready for that.
The Galaxy Court also features a new special match type, called the “Galaxy Court Match”. This match adds special rules, including allowing one of three types of “Prankster Comets” to appear, which greatly change the strategy of the match.
Along with the new court, the update also adds the Black Hole Racket, which creates black holes when the fever shot hits the ground. These black holes then pull in any player who gets too close, giving you a good reason to avoid certain areas of the court.
In keeping with the Galaxy theme, the update also adds new colour options for Luma, with cosmetic options now including red, green, blue, orange, and black. Other cosmetic changes include a Classic Mario outfit added, which can be obtained after collecting 5 medals.

The latest update for Mario Tennis Fever also adds GameShare via GameChat, so players who don’t own the game can play with their friends using the special feature exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online.
Using “Play via GameChat”, you’re able to play tennis matches with swing controls in addition to tennis matches with button controls and games in Mix It Up.
Aside from this, the update also makes some balance changes to various characters and fever rackets.
Many characters have received adjustments to their aim for the sidelines, as well as vertical reach and shot strength also increased slightly to make them more balanced during regular play.
As for the rackets, the behaviour of certain effects has been tweaked. For example, the Mini Mushroom Racket has been changed so the effect of being shrunken goes away when a point is scored, while the Star Racket now gets rid of Mini Mushrooms from the Mini Mushroom Racket while its effect is active.
Other changes that arrived with the update include changing star point detection to make it easier to execute Star Shots, and now being able to select a “Random” option on the racket selection screen.
