Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Remake May Have Just Leaked

Something Ocarina of Time-shaped is 100% dropping in 2026

A recent leak has led fans to believe that a Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is inbound, but are Nintendo going to go the extra mile and fully remake the 1998 Nintendo 64 classic?

Nintendo often gets (fairly) criticised for not supporting and re-releasing some of its classic titles.

One of the reasons why people often get so upset with them regarding their overly litigious anti-piracy efforts is due to this lack of support for certain legacy titles, as playing specific games on modern hardware is borderline impossible.

That being said, where The Legend of Zelda titles are concerned, Nintendo clearly knows which side their bread is buttered on, because they’ve been pretty good at porting the most popular entries in the franchise to the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.

Most of the time, these ports are handled through the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack service, but they have gone the extra mile and re-release newer titles like The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.

Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch Online service isn’t perfect, and often only allows users to play older versions of certain titles. Case in point, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, the 3DS remake of the game, will likely never be available through the subscription.

Well, some users think there’s a chance that Nintendo might still port the game, or potentially even remake it for a second time, following info from a new leak.

As revealed in a video by The Brick Tap, a new LEGO diorama for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will supposedly be landing in March next year, and fans over on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit think this might be the first step in Nintendo’s plan to port the game to modern systems.

“I can see them doing a remaster double pack of Ocarina of time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D into one like the Galaxy collections since the games already got remakes on 3DS. Now put those on consoles in 4K”, commented user precita.

“I can't believe they haven't done this yet, the foundation is there, they just need to update them and add onto them for the Switch 2. I really want an old school Zelda collection as well”, replied user Robsonmonkey.

So what are the chances this is actually true?

As far as the LEGO leak is concerned, I’d wager that is 100% correct. The Brick Tap has an oddly incredible track record regarding leaks, so I think that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time diorama is definitely coming.

Regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 port of the game, though… it would make sense, and Nintendo have been ramping up their legacy support efforts recently. Unfortunately, for the time being, it is just conjecture– but admittedly very compelling conjecture.
