Hogwarts Legacy Free Multiplayer Mode Stuns Gamers

The wizarding world just got mod support

If you thought the wizarding world had no more to offer its students, you'd be wrong.

Hogwarts Legacy is still going strong, continuously introducing news aspects to the hit game. One part of the 2025 update that has fans hyped is its free multiplayer mode.

As beloved as Hogwarts Legacy has been since its release in 2023, there have undoubtedly been elements missing from gameplay that have left gamers hungry for more. While the Warner Bros. Games title delivered the Harry Potter RPG of our dreams, being unable to properly explore Hogwarts with friends left a sour taste in some players' mouths.

Studying magic is all fun and games, but it's nothing without friends at your side. Aww.

In the words of YouTube user @Cj-jr88, multiplayer was "all the game was missing".

Fast forward to 2025, and a new multiplayer mode is finally here, thanks to the introduction of mod support.

"This is huge," said @5uperSmok3, on a video showcasing the latest update.

User @nikolaigoven9575 remarked, "Looks like imma be playing Hogwarts again."

Now that playing with friends is so much easier, the potential for the game, and eventually its sequel, are "huge". You'll be able to traverse hidden areas within the game you weren't supposed to see, this time with a trusty gang of mates by your side. You know, just in case some fantastic beasts appear.

Should the free multiplayer mode not be to your liking, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy Hogwarts Legacy as a returning fan. For starters, you could play in first-person mode instead. That's right, you can now gain a whole new perspective while walking Hogwarts hallowed halls by simply switching your POV. Fans have praised this mod for completely changing the experience.

Hogwarts Legacy is ready to welcome you back, which is fortunate for die-hard fans, because Hogwarts Legacy 2 looks set to be unplayable for millions. Oftentimes, there's a reason the OG title remains a favourite amongst fandoms; arguably, being able to play long after release, with new content regularly added, is preferred to a whole new game that may miss the mark.

If you're ready to visit Hogwarts with friends, you can try the new multiplayer mode for free.
