Hogwarts Legacy Gamer Finds Hidden Area We Weren't Supposed To See

Reveal your secrets...

One of the biggest challenges facing developer Avalanche Studios before the release of Hogwarts Legacy was bringing such a familiar and legendary castle to life in a way that satisfied fans.

As a location that felt intimately familiar to a generation of people who had read the books and seen the films, it was always going to be tough to capture all of the little nooks and crannies that make it feel special.

Fortunately, the developer did a pretty spectacular job and there were a ton of secrets to discover and iconic areas to explore. So much so that the dedicated player base is still discovering new areas almost two years since its original release - even if they weren't supposed to.

Whether it's the secret passageway hidden in the Viaduct Bridge or the extra storage room in the Gryffindor Common Room, it's a layered location that really does have new things to discover around every corner.

Over on Reddit, one player shared their discovery after noclipping through the environment in Hogwarts Legacy. Though they didn't find a new room or area to explore per se, they came across a strange and unexplained ghost NPC, as well as the Keepers (a group made up of Hogwarts teachers and founded to guard the secrets of Ancient Magic).

Now, don't get carried away thinking this is part of some larger design from the developers, with a further trail of secrets a la Mount Chiliad mystery. These character models have been left behind during development and remain as artefacts of that process, rather than anything bigger and more mysterious.

Still, it is exciting to think that, despite millions of players spending well over a year doing all they can to root out the castle's secrets, there are still unique discoveries to be made for the first time.
