Just when you thought the dark arts couldn't get darker, a Hogwarts Legacy player uncovers a grisly secret that we wish we had never seen.
When Hogwarts Legacy arrived in February 2023, it instantly became a hit with fans of Harry Potter’s wizarding world, with its gorgeous Hogwarts Castle, enchanting locations such as the Forbidden Forest, and not to mention many of its endlessly charming NPCs.
“Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Make allies, battle Dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world.”

Having such a big map to explore, there are no doubt plenty of secrets to discover, such as this unnerving example found by a player on Reddit.
“Oh, my god?!” exclaimed tubercolosis69, sharing a screenshot of a dead body with a note by its side which read “MUDBLOOD.”
The word “Mudblood” in the Wizarding World is a discriminatory word used against Muggles, half-blood wizards or witches. In other words, they are not pure-bloods and are very much disliked by some pure-blood supremacists, such as Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters.

So, judging by the note found alongside this dead body in Hogwarts Legacy, I’m no Detective Columbo, but there’s a good chance they were murdered by a pure-blood, but who, exactly?
“Bro just stumbled upon a hate crime,” replied evil-rick.
“Damn, where was this?” asked No-Bowl-206, to which DracoArgenteus shared its exact location: a hidden treasure vault along the Clagmar Coast.
“And this isn’t even the only one,” declared oitfx, ominously.

“I just found this yesterday! There are a lot of random dead bodies with horrible notes scattered throughout this game,” said motherofabeardie58.
Perhaps all will be explained in the currently unannounced Hogwarts Legacy 2? Only time will tell.
Hogwarts Legacy is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
