Hogwarts Legacy celebrates first anniversary with special rewards for players

Hogwarts Legacy players can celebrate the game's first anniversary with this developer update

Hogwarts Legacy is currently in the midst of celebrating its first anniversary, and has chosen to mark the occasion with a developer blooper reel and stats proving Slytherin is the best Hogwarts house.

Launched this time last year for Xbox Series X/S, the PlayStation 5 and PC, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter game has had a long and eventful journey so far.

Hogwarts Legacy later released on the previous generation of consoles, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, before eventually receiving one final release on the Nintendo Switch for questionable results. Nevertheless the game has been a runaway success, earning the title of 2023’s best-selling game.

The journey isn’t over yet though, as the game’s developer has promised more content is planned for release this year via DLC expansions. It also marked the first year anniversary with a list of stats collating all player’s adventures and experiences in the game world. According to the info, 30% of players picked Slytherin as their house, which makes sense considering how many players wanted to be dark wizards in the game.

It was also revealed that 425 million Merlin Trials were solved, 5.25 billion Dark Wizards were defeated and a grand total of 740 million hours were spent in the game, amongst other things.

The developers have also rewarded players with a free blooper-reel video of some hilarious bugs and glitches reportedly encountered during the development phase. Of course the full game had its fair share of problems, especially if you were playing on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, but the majority have been fixed at the time of writing. Players interested in seeing the bloopers can find the video on here on YouTube.

Hogwarts Legacy is currently available on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo platforms, and there’s no better time to pick it up given how there’s new content on the way.
