Fallout 76 players keep nuking Xbox boss Phil Spencer in protest of studio closures

Must be quite toasty right about now

Do you ever get the sense someone is trying to send you a message?

Normally it’s veiled glares, but for Xbox’s Phil Spencer, he gets his camp bombed.

Luckily for Spencer, the nukes going off are inside the wasted world of Fallout 76. Still, it sends a clear message that players aren’t too impressed with Xbox right now.

Have you ventured into the world of Fallout 76?

You’d have to be living under a rock not to have noticed all the layoffs Microsoft is leaving in its destructive wake.

Numerous beloved studios have fallen victim to the corporate axe, with exclusives quietly killed off in the process.

In short, the industry is in shambles.

Yet, being able to demonstrate our ire isn’t easy due to the industry higher ups being so far from our reach.

As a result, fans have taken up arms the only way they know how: via video games.

The recent surge in player numbers since Amazon’s Fallout aired has been nothing short of remarkable.

However, with that renewal in interest comes a means to target the Microsoft CEO without any kind of ramifications.

A tweet captured the carnage being rained down on Spencer, with the words, “Lmao someone nuked Phil Spencer’s camp in Fallout 76.”

Notice that big red ring? Well, it seems to be sticking around as disgruntled fans enjoy wreaking havoc on Spencer.

“I hope people make a habit of griefing him in any game he joins from now on,” reads one comment.

Another fan added, “May they never know peace.”

Arguably though, the best comment goes to Twitter user @Ahmed54253546, who joked, “Now he'll be feeling the heat.”

This is an obvious reference to the massive backlash Xbox endured after unveiling new hardware with a questionable caption attached.

Whether Spencer has suffered worst of the fandom’s anger remains to be seen; after all, war never changes.
