Fallout 4 players horrified by secret in game's first area we all missed

There are plenty of horrifying secrets in Fallout 4, and while this one isn’t the worst, it certainly makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

You won’t necessarily wet yourself with fear over it, but it’ll definitely trigger that fight or flight response in you.

Assuming you even bother to leave the vault, that is.

One Fallout 4 player managed to beat the game without leaving Vault 111.

Leaving that vault in Fallout 4 ended up being a whole thing!

Consider us curious of the outside world, and thus, we left the vault and took it upon ourselves to explore the first area of Bethesda’s game thoroughly.

Note the use of “thoroughly” here, because it would seem a lot of us have been failing to find every secret buried in Concord.

Redditor Psyker_girl shared that by heading down into Concord Civic Access before the Deathclaw breaks out and attacks you, you’ll hear it peacefully snoozing.

No doubt dreaming of ripping your character limb from limb.

If you bring the likes of Codsworth along for the trip, they’ll have some “unique dialogue” instructing you to leave whatever it is asleep, and for you to remain on the “quiet side”.

Wise words from our companion there.

It isn’t just Codsworth who senses something is wrong, Dogmeat is said to “whine” as well if you bring them along.

Apparently, each companion has their own special reaction to this sleeping Deathclaw – even Preston, which is impressive considering you likely haven’t met him at this point in the game.

Perhaps these responses are simply “generic” “comment markers” that apply to any Deathclaw lair you find.

Either way, fans are horrified that they can hear their soon-to-be-enemy snoozing away.

There are so many hidden areas within Fallout 4 that it can be difficult to keep track of them.

While they don’t always hold valuable items, like this scary secret, they provide extra depth and context to the situation your character finds themself in.
