Fallout 4 new 'DLC' announced in year of our lord 2024

The world of Fallout 4 is getting even bigger

The world of Fallout 4 is about to get even bigger as a “DLC sized” expansion is on the way courtesy of the ever-dedicated modding community.

What would a Bethesda game be without modders? It’s basically a given that when the developer releases a new game it gives its community the tools needed to make it better through new content, changes to the gameplay, or full-on expansions.

When Starfield launched it was confirmed modders would be getting a new version of the Creation Club to share their creations with the world

Fallout 4 has seen quite a few of these in its time, after all the game is nearly a decade old by this point.

While Bethesda did support the game with official DLC expansions like Far Harbour and Nuka World they were eventually overshadowed by enormous community projects like Fallout: London, and now a new expansion will be joining the pile.

Reddit user SquireTheMad recently announced they’re working on a “DLC sized mod” that’ll take players to a new location in the Fallout world, the Saratoga Wasteland.

Describing the mod further they teased players will “help shift the power balance in Saratoga” whether it be aiding “the Regnum of Sare in their effort to maintain stability in the wastes” or help the Dustlanders take over.

Other factions were teased, but it’s unknown how much we can expect in terms of quests and side activities.

It sounds great though, and a good one to move onto if you’ve already finished Fallout: London but don’t want to leave the Fallout world just yet.

Expansions like this are essential for our sanity as fans too, as Bethesda clearly isn’t going to get Fallout 5 out the door anytime soon unless Xbox forces it to hand the game’s development over to another studio, not the worst idea as it did give us Fallout: New Vegas…

As for the above expansion mod it’s still in development, but I’m sure SquireTheMad will provide updates on its progress and launch.
