Elden Ring is already an enormous game, and although we don’t know quite how big its upcoming DLC expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, is going to be, we can only assume that it’ll follow in its chonky footsteps.

This can only be good news for gamers. Since Elden Ring’s release in February last year, fans have truly pushed the limits of what’s possible within the game, from the countless lightning-fast speedruns, to even beating the final boss using a dance mat, of all things (that really puts the rest of us who struggled to defeat it using a regular controller to shame).

Take a look at some of Elden Ring’s funniest mods below.

The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was announced back in February, and although FromSoftware is yet to release any details about it (other than the cool official art, anyway), fans have been speculating that it could centre around Malenia’s older brother, Miquella. Does that mean we might have another Malenia fight in store? I’m terrified to even contemplate that, to be honest.

Anyway, as Game Rant reports, it sounds like FromSoftware might have even more plans for Elden Ring beyond the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which is a tantalising thought. In a new quarterly report from Kadokawa (FromSoftware’s parent company), it was stated that: “Various measures are currently in progress for Elden Ring, including the development of major DLC, to maximise [lifetime value].”

The Kadokawa Quarterly report was shared today.
Total sales of Elden Ring have seen a decrease. This makes sense as the game is over a year old.

Interesting that Elden Ring DLC is above AC6 release. Priority? Curious what "various measures to maximize Lifetime Value" are. pic.twitter.com/EH7MbC7ALG

Even if Shadow of the Erdtree is the only “major DLC” that’s currently in the works, that seemingly isn’t the only thing happening in the game if it’s just one part of the “various measures” being used. Who knows what they’re referring to, though. Maybe we can expect a few more free content updates in the future?

We don’t currently know when the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is set to release, so we’ll have to watch this space.
