If you’re a fan of Cyberpunk 2077 and John Wick, then you’re in for a treat with this upcoming action beat ‘em up, SPINE.

Despite its very troublesome launch in December 2020, CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 has not only pretty much fulfilled its potential (at least on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S) but it’s also become one of the most profitable properties for the Polish publisher/developer, which is why it’s spawned tabletop board games, graphic novels, a Netflix anime and much more.

Check out the SPINE gameplay below!

As for the John Wick movie franchise, I can never get enough of the badass rogue assassin played by the always breathtaking Keanu Reeves and I cannot wait for John Wick 5, whenever that movie may arrive. So when we are treated to a video game that blends the worlds of Cyberpunk 2077 and John Wick, it most certainly piques our interest. One such game is the aforementioned SPINE, developed and published by indie company, Nekki.

SPINE was announced in 2023 and towards the end of that year, we were treated to a glorious gameplay trailer, however, that trailer was more cinematic in-game engine footage than anything else. Thankfully, we’ve now been treated to some actual raw gameplay and it looks even better than what the previous “gameplay” trailer had teased.

“Ever wondered what it's like to be the hero of an action movie? To find yourself in the epicentre of the action, kicking the gun out of your opponent's hand, or parrying a bullet with your trusty katana?” reads the description of the game. “Look no further! SPINE is a cinematic game about close-quarters gunfights. Become the hero of your favourite action movie, grab your guns, enhance your reflexes with a Spine augmentation, and get ready to fight!”

SPINE does not have a release date at the time of writing, but we do know that it will eventually be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
