Amazon is giving away 9 free games as an early Black Friday treat

Black Friday just keeps on giving and it's not even properly here yet

Black Friday is edging closer, and with its looming arrival comes an array of presale and early deals to get you in the mood to spend, spend, spend. Some will encourage you to grab yourself a new console at a bargain, while other deals focus on the games instead; this is the latter kind of deal.

Amazon is giving away nine free games to its subscribers – as long as you pay for Amazon Prime, you’ll be able to redeem these games and bank some serious gaming hours.

Don't forget other Star Wars greats like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor!

The games on offer are varied, and include the following (as reported by Mashable):

  • Rage 2
  • Centipede: Recharged
  • Evan's Remains
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery
  • The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos
  • Black Widow: Recharged
  • Orten was the Case
  • Caverns of Mars: Recharged

What we love about the selection is that it’s so varied, ensuring that most genres are catered to, while also delivering both big-name and indie titles. For me personally, I would suggest anyone who hasn’t played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic plays that title first, as it’s arguably one of the best games BioWare has created.

Another game I can’t recommend enough is Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery. This is an indie title, mixing together anime-style visuals, painting by numbers, and an emotional storyline to bring to life an enchanting world; it delivers a lot for such a small game. YouTube fans might have even seen snippets of it if you watch Gab Smolders’ channel.

There are plenty of well-received, positively reviewed games here. In fact, even the ones less popular with gamers, like Bethesda’s Rage 2, still entertain, albeit in a non-committal way as opposed to something to truly immerse yourself in.

The first five games on the list are already available, with the remaining four slowly coming out throughout the rest of November, between the 22 and 30 Nov.
