This open-world Avatar video game concept trailer is simply stunning and gives us a taste of what could be when Ubisoft finally releases its official game.

In June 2021, we got our first look at Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. While the official trailer didn't provide actual gameplay, it was in-engine footage, which would give us an inkling of what the game will look like come release.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was intended to release for new-gen consoles and PC in 2022. Obviously, that never came to be. However, reports in May 2022 claimed that the Avatar game will be released during the current fiscal year. That would imply that the game will be released by April 2023, though I wouldn't hold your breath.

Thankfully while we wait for when Ubisoft’s Avatar game finally arrives, the talented concept video game developer TeaserPlay has taken matters into their own hands.

TeaserPlay’s concept of an open-world Avatar game is powered by Unreal Engine 5. Unlike the official game, which is powered by Ubisoft's in-house Snowdrop engine. In the concept trailer, we see what looks to be the main character of the movie franchise, Jake Sully exploring the gorgeous forest of Pandora, before taking flight to the skies on a Leonopteryx.

Sadly, TeaserPlay’s Avatar concept will never be played by any of us. It simply exists to show how stunning the official game might look. So Ubisoft, hurry up and release Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, please.

If you’re unfamiliar with the talents of TeaserPlay, I’d certainly recommended checking out their YouTube channel. They have some amazing concepts for GTA: San Andreas 2, Need for Speed: Underground 2, Red Dead Redemption, and more.

In related Avatar news, the movie sequel “Way of the Water” has been nominated for Best Picture for the Academy Awards 2023.
