Following on from a series of free downloads that have been made available for Nintendo Switch owners over recent weeks, a new wave of digital freebies is now ready to grab.

As a way of giving Nintendo Switch users the chance to decorate their profiles and celebrate their favourite characters, Nintendo has been releasing various digital downloads week by week.

Check out the trailer for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door below!

From Donkey Kong to Splatoon 3, these icons and icon borders will improve the look of anybody’s Nintendo Switch profile and they are free! What more could you want?

This week belongs to Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door which we called “a vibrant reprint of a beloved must-read” in our review.

Nintendo Switch Online members will be able to grab icons for characters such as Vivian, Beldam, Hooktail, Koops, Madame Flurrie, Marilyn and, of course, Mario himself.

Additionally, there are five backgrounds to choose from and five frames. The characters are 10 coins each whereas the backgrounds and frames are five so you can mix and match to your heart’s content.

If you’re interested in these downloads, they are available to redeem via the Missions & Rewards section of the Nintendo Switch Online page.

Although fans are sad there are no icons for characters such as Luigi and Doopliss, it is still testament to how loved the Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door remake is since its release last month.

Our review read: “Overall though, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door accomplishes what it sets out to do: remake and revamp a beloved Nintendo classic for a new audience on the Nintendo Switch.”

The original title was released back in 2004 and as a fan favourite, it was no doubt that a Nintendo Switch remake was on the cards and now, we have some icons to show our appreciation!
