The Pokémon Company have released a range of children’s books designed to teach baby trainers about different Pokémon type advantages.

Three books have been released as part of the Pokémon Primer series, covering the three core Pokémon types: Grass type, Water type and Fire type. The stories follow Pikachu having fun days out at various locations, like camping sites and water parks. While travelling, he meets various Grass, Water and Fire-type Pokémon (depending on the book you’re reading) and learns more about them, including what their strengths and weaknesses are in relation to real-life scenarios and Pokémon battles.

Check out some epic Pokémon merch below.

The official product page states the books “boast sturdy designs and are filled with fun, colourful illustrations”. It later adds, “With more than 100 lift-and-reveal flaps, Pokémon Primers are truly an interactive adventure for young minds.” The upcoming series was shared on the official Pokémon Twitter account, much to the joy of Pokémon fans who also have children they’d love to introduce to the series.

“What an awesome idea! I’ll definitely buy one of these for my 2 [year-old] niece! I often get her Pokémon books and she really loves them. Her favorite is Pikachu of course," one fan wrote while another added, "These are such a wonderful idea!! Kudos to the team and I would love to see more in this series focusing on other types too." Someone commented, "I bought all the other ones for my son and they are his favourite books for my wife and I to read him! We will definitely be buying these for him as well.”

Honestly, it’s a lovely and charming idea, and it sounds like they’ll be great fun for little ones destined to become Pokémon trainers, and probably help them pick their first starter Pokémon too. The Pokémon Primer books are now available to preorder online.
