For fans of Halloween and being sick, a new horror movie is heading to cinemas and is rumoured to be so gory, audience members are being provided with sick bags.

Early screenings of the latest Saw instalment have had viewers take to social media to share images of the paper bags they were handed before they headed in to see the movie. The paper bag stamped with “WARNING” also reads “Saw X is a film not to be taken lightly. Vomit or cry… the choice is yours.” One viewer who shared an image of the sick bag described Saw X as their “favourite in the series” claiming “the atmosphere felt right, the gore was fantastic and the raw emotion. Tobin Bell is one of the greatest, his performance in this film was one of his best.”

This is a bold claim considering Saw X is the tenth entry in the Saw franchise since the first was released in 2004. With nine of the ten movies centering around fictional serial killer John "Jigsaw" Kramer, the latest is no different.

“Hoping for a miraculous cure, John Kramer travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure, only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable” reads the official synopsis. “Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer uses deranged and ingenious traps to turn the tables on the con artists.”

With Saw X set to be the most horrific in the series, fans will be flocking to the cinema in their thousands. The official trailer shows some of the typical scenes you can expect from a Saw movie including one poor victim being told to perform brain surgery on himself without anaesthesia. According to Deadline, this new instalment tells the “untold chapter of Jigsaw’s final games” but will be set chronologically between the events of Saw I and Saw II.

This is also not the first time horror movie viewers have been provided with a sick bag at premieres. Fans who flocked to see Terrifier 2 were also provided with paper bags with a warning reading “This vomit bag is being provided due to the extreme violence and excessive gore of this feature”.

Whether or not you make use of the sick bag, Saw X is set to be a gruesome and horrifying experience.
