Spider-Man & Deadpool is the MCU's next big team-up, fans agree

We need this now!

When it comes to the comic book universe, it’s a place where pretty much anything can happen, especially when it comes to the multiverses of Marvel and DC.

The most recent movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to hit the silver screen was the highly anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine directed by Shawn Levy where, finally, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine team up to save the world.

Deadpool & Wolverine has been met with rave reviews from critics and fans alike, scoring an impressive 96% from the audience on the aggregate website, Rotten Tomatoes. Those familiar with the previous Deadpool movies will know that it’s packed with Easter eggs and pop culture references, but one Marvel tease in particular has got fans very excited.

Now, fans are dreaming up a Spider-Man and Deadpool collaboration as a comically badass duo in the MCU. “I just know that Sony’s foaming at the mouth to make this happen,” said Redditor TheOfficialWasteland, sharing a mock-up logo of Spider-Man and Deadpool.

Just a heads up, please be mindful of potential spoilers in the Reddit thread.

“It’s not just wishful thinking, it’ll 100% happen,” claimed TheEmeraldRaven in response. “Deadpool’s movies need to be rated R, but they can tone down the cursing and gore for a supporting role in a Spidey flick.”

They continued: “Sony’s wanted a major non-Spidey Marvel hero for a major supporting role in every Tom Holland movie so far; Homecoming - Iron Man, Far from Home - Nick Fury, No Way Home - Doctor Strange. 100% Sony is asking for and will get a hero in the next trilogy.”

“If you've seen the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon this would be a dope possibility,” said No_Effective4958. “Peter Parker is tired of being the good guy, tired of Nick Fury in his ear and not being able to slack off. Then he meets Deadpool who Fury hates because he plays too much, slacks off and by the end realises Deadpool is irresponsible then goes back to Fury with a lesson learned.”

While much of the Reddit thread would love to see this dream collaboration, there’s also a large portion who would not. Fans are also calling for team-ups with Daredevil, the Human Torch and more. Personally, I’d love to see them all, if treated with the respect they deserve.

Deadpool & Wolverine is in cinemas right now and is rated aged 15 in the UK.
