Ever since the streaming-giant Netflix started adding games to its service in 2021, subscribers have slowly been getting access to a growing library of titles, playable on mobile devices.

While you won’t find major releases like Elden Ring and Call Of Duty on the service, it’s been a great opportunity for indie-games, many of which are well-suited to mobile play sessions.

One of the latest additions to the subscription service, which will launch later this month, will be the much-anticipated Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, the highly-requested follow-up to the critically-acclaimed Oxenfree, which launched on PC and console platforms in 2016.

Oxenfree is a graphic adventure game by Night School Studio that was heavily praised for its story, characters and unique dialogue system. Originally released on PC, Xbox and PlayStation platforms in 2016, it received a Nintendo Switch port in 2017, and fans have been demanding a sequel ever since.

Luckily, a sequel was announced back in 2021, with additional details confirming it’ll be set five years after the first game, with an all-new cast and original story. It’ll also build on the unique dialogue system found in the first game, which made character interactions feel immersive. The title will be released on the 12th of July for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC platforms, but not Xbox, which has caused a lot of backlash from fans.

Netflix announced the game’s inclusion in its subscription service in April, saying that subscribers will be able to play the game with a valid Netflix membership “without any ads, additional fees or in-app purchases.”

The first Oxenfree game was an absolute masterclass in inventive, mind-bending horror, and a true indie-gem that’s well-worth playing if you haven’t already. If Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is anything like its predecessor, prepare for a thrilling adventure that you’ll never forget.
