Netflix's latest horror is leaving viewers 'scarred for life'

Netflix’s latest horror movie The Strays is leaving viewers feeling ‘scarred for life’.

Netflix’s latest horror movie The Strays is very dramatically leaving viewers feeling ‘scarred for life’.

As reported by our friends at LADbible, The Strays stars Ashley Madekwe, Jorden Myrie and Bukky Bakray, and tells the story of one woman’s “meticulously crafted life of privilege [which] starts to unravel when two strangers show up in her quaint suburban town.” It’s not long until the life of the main character, Neve, is turned upside down and takes a sinister turn for the worse. Neve’s perfect life spirals out of control when haunting secrets of the past catch up with her. In other words, her life has turned into a living nightmare, to say the least.

Take a look at the trailer for The Strays below.

A theme of The Strays is a concept known as ‘code switching’. “[This term is when] a member of an underrepresented group adjusts their language, syntax, grammatical structure, behaviour and appearance to fit into the dominant culture,” explains director Nathaniel Martello-White. Viewers across social media have been sharing their thoughts on the disturbing The Strays, and yeah, it sounds like a perfect film for fans of intense horror. I'll leave the teases there. It's best to go with little to no knowledge.

“Just finished watching The Strays on Netflix and I think I’m scarred for life because what the hell did I just watch,” said Phlow_Official on Twitter. “Just finished The Strays on Netflix and immediately came to Twitter bc what the hell did I just witness,” tweeted @thenickjshow_.

“This movie is weird but I can confidently say I have no idea where this is going so that’s refreshing,” added alexissTyler. “A movie that’s not a remake or Marvel related. Glad to know Hollywood is still giving some creative people a chance.”The Strays is available to stream now on Netflix with a runtime of 137 minutes and an age rating of 15 in the UK and TV-MA rating in the US.
