Netflix Horizon Show Details Leaked By Insider

According to an industry insider, the Horizon Zero Dawn Netflix show will take place well before the events of the game.

Late last month, it was reported that alongside the God of War TV series heading to Amazon Prime Video, we’re also getting an adaptation of Horizon Zero Dawn coming to Netflix. Oh, and apparently, some sort of Gran Turismo adaptation, too? Don’t even ask me how that one’s supposed to work (the vision I have in my head is like Pixar’s Cars, only hyper-realistic, and it’s terrifying).

The news was reportedly unveiled during one of Sony’s business briefings, but other than the fact that it’s happening and coming to Netflix, no details have really been given about it. However, one prominent industry insider is claiming to know some pretty interesting information about the show, and if it’s true, it’s shaping up to be great.

Take a look at the trailer for Horizon Zero Dawn below.

As reported by ComicBook, journalist Jeff Grubb was discussing the show on the most recent episode of his podcast, GrubbSnax. All the information divulged was summarised by Twitter account @Okami13_, and includes the timeline and concept of the show, as well as its name.

Apparently, it’s going to be titled Horizon 2047, and you might already have some idea of what it’s going to be about based on that name alone. Reportedly, it’s basically going to serve as a prequel, taking place “during the height of humanity, right before the fall”. The main story of Horizon Zero Dawn takes place in the 31st century (around 3040), so the show could predate the game by quite some time.

This is maybe the most interesting way that the show could be handled, though. As excellent of a game Zero Dawn is, getting some extra background info from the old world is likely going to be much more appealing to fans than a straight copy of the game’s main events. That said, of course, it would mean that we wouldn’t see Aloy on screen, which is a shame.

As always, do take all this unofficial information with a generous pinch of salt until it’s actually confirmed. I personally can’t wait to find out more about this show.
