Netflix’s deep-dive into the game industry has been running surprisingly smoothly so far, and now subscribers are getting another banger added to the library.

Games via subscription service is nothing new, even the big players in the industry Xbox and PlayStation have Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus respectively.

One of the latest additions to Xbox Game Pass is one soulslike fans are going to love, Another Crab’s Treasure, check it out below.

That being said, I think many were surprised to see Netflix brazenly announce it’ll start porting, and launching, video games on its service, and honestly the recent additions justify that decision entirely.

Recently, the spectacular roguelike masterpiece Hades was added to the line-up, just in time for Hades II, which released earlier this week and is currently dominating the Steam charts.

The most recent game to saunter onto the service though is one platform game fans won’t want to miss, Sonic Mania Plus.

Sonic Mania is arguably the greatest 2D Sonic game ever made, reimagining the retro-style with gorgeous colours, another bopping soundtrack and an original story.

It was followed up with Sonic Mania Plus, a revamped version of the game that added a number of features, though the real highlight was two new playable characters, Mighty The Armadillo and Ray The Flying Squirrel.

Both of these characters have made appearances in Sonic games of old, making their return a huge deal for long-time fans.

Now Sonic Mania Plus is available to Netflix subscribers, meaning you can play it on mobile devices as the service doesn’t yet support TV play.

Admittedly the portability isn’t much to scream at, as you could already play the game on the go via the Nintendo Switch and Steam if you have a Steam Deck, but if its addition to Netflix means more people get to play it, I’m fully onboard.

Sonic Mania Plus is available now for Netflix subscribers, and I’d urge you to give it a go if you haven’t already.
